I had gained 52 lbs, I was diagnosed with Hypothyroidism, and I had never really taken care of myself and it had all finally caught up with me. Before I met Amy, I worked out a bit, and I never thought that what I ate affected you so much. I'd have bad days, that would turn into weeks, that turned into months and would then just give up all together. It was very frustrating. I realized, after the great results my friend was getting from the LYF programs, that I could fit LYF into my budget and it was one of the best decisions I could have made for myself. The BEST thing about working with Amy is that she actually cares about you. Everything else she provides is just a perk. During our sessions it's really easy to be completely honest with her, because I know she isn't going to judge me. It is also great to know that she wants the best for you and gives you all of the options available to help you make the best decision for yourself. I never thought I would have so much fun on a program and Amy pushes you just the right amount to show you how great you truly are.I can honestly say that I have Amy to thank for that.
I contacted Amy because I knew in my head I wanted my life to change. My relationship with food was broken and I exercised because 'I should'. That was 6 months ago. Today I'm stronger and Amy continually challenges me to come at this from a place of self love. I have been learning to work out and be active because I see myself as valuable, that I'm worth taking the time for. I still have work to do but that change I knew I needed in my head is now a work in progress in my heart. I am learning to love my post baby body right where it is at all while working toward my goal. I can't imagine what my life would look like if I hadn't have met Amy; life and fitness are a journey and LYF is a beautiful part of mine.
I owe my new outlook on life to Amy & LYF. I was feeling pretty low and unwell before I started with Amy. My confidence improved after the first session and I am forever grateful for that. Amy knows her stuff ,she is inspiring and very understanding. Amy is warm and welcoming and has a wicked sense of humor. Amy has gently pushed me to work smarter and lift heavy weights I didn't think I could ever lift. Amy believed in me and now thanks to her I believe in myself as well. My journey with Amy started with nutrition - I was completely clueless as to why I wasn't losing any weight but with Amy's help I realized I was a CARBOHOLIC!! Amy was there for me as a mentor and a friend and she has just the right amount of encouragement and discipline to get me to my goals. Everyone has their struggles with busy lives while trying to incorporate a program that you know you will maintain. I have found this with Amy. My initial goal was to celebrate my daughters high school graduation last year and to be able to look back on all her photos and be proud of how I looked and now my motivation is small but gradual changes in my body. I am so lucky to have found Amy, she has made me a better version of myself!
I was one of those girls who would try all the fads, shakes, different diets, wraps. None of these products worked for me, so I decided it was time for a new approach. I had heard of LYF from girls at work and decided to start private mentoring sessions. It has been one of the best decisions I have ever made! Amy works with me and my needs to create workouts and meal ideas suitable for my life. I am proud to say that after 8 months of working with Amy I feel better about myself, how I look and my self-esteem has tripled. Amy has changed my life for the better! Even when I had an extremely stressful time in my life she helped me channel my stress into positive outlets. I am extremely grateful for her persistence and for pushing me as I need it!
My journey with Amy is by far the best decision I ever made for myself. I have struggled with my weight pretty much my whole life and I had tried many different programs in the past without any long-term results because they were not "real life" friendly. They worked for a short time but if they weren't followed to a "T" you failed. In the short time that I have spent with Amy, she has helped me see that you don't have to live a life full of restrictions in order to meet your goals. She has taught me to forget all the "rules" associated with food and to just listen to my body. No two people are the same so what works for one may not work for another but that doesn't mean you should quit or try to be something you are not. On top of the tremendous amount of emotional support and growth, the sessions we get from Amy are phenomenal. Amy is not only an amazing mentor but she is also patient, kind and so easy to talk to! I am so grateful that Amy has come into my life and helped to show me light where there has always been darkness!!
I started with LYF in the summer of 2015. At that time I was 170 pounds, and floundering with weight loss. I had worked with a few trainers in my area, but had limited success.... I found with other mentors I had to either be on a deprivation diet, have shakes or pop pills to lose weight. Amy had a refreshing approach that involved REAL food, exercise and Amy also pinpointed a few other areas I could work on. With Amy's help in my formal sessions, emails and answering my 'omg what do I do' texts, I lost weight and inches and I have learned to work out smarter and relax with food choices.... My weight loss journey is far from over, but I know I have Amy cheering me on and she is always there provide help and encouragement :)
