It’s late fall and the mornings here have been dark and chilly. It’s the perfect time to warm up with one of my favourite new breakfast bowls. Banana pairs so unbelievably well with maple and the nutty flavour of walnut. Think warm banana bread – the perfect morning breakie!
This bowl is great pre-workout fuel plus it takes less than 10 minutes to prepare! Be sure to adjust the ingredients to your needs and what you have available. You can substitute any nut you like (pecans, almonds etc) or add more/less banana and maple syrup. You do you, boo!
– 1/3 cup oats
– 1 tbsp chopped walnuts
– 1/2 tbsp flax seeds
– 1/2 tbsp hemp seeds
– 1/2 medium banana
– 1 tbsp organic real maple syrup
1) Combine oats, nuts and seeds into a bowl. Add boiling water and allow oats to cook, about 5 minutes
2) Chop your banana and add to the top when your oats are cooked
3) Drizzle Maple Syrup on top
This a great option to pair with eggs on the side or add a flavourless protein powder (like my favourite, Bulletproof Collagen Powder) for an added protein punch to keep you fuller longer.
